The Boss 99 Generator
the ability for up to, and over 1 kW
It is a RARE and hard to find, very high output generator.
Note: This would be Instantaneous Output, and not
"Real World"
since it is based on shorted amperage times open voltage.

Thus making this a
super high output 12 or 24 volt systems @ .0377 volts per
rpm. |
This generator has been tested and proven with our Quadraflex AL rotor.
Other blade designs have been tested with EVEN 6 blades and they
stalled out to a complete stop with only
a 50 watt load in an 18 mph wind.
It is a very torque hungry generator and requires TLG's cup design of
blades to run it and run it well.
Take a look at Dave's Boss99 Generator
and read his comments on it.
Recommended usage.
The
Quadraflex AL direct drive for a 12 or 24 volt system.
With a jack shaft you can have a 12, 24, or 36 volt
system in winds less than 16 mph with high output.
The Tri-Nado Elite 7' foot rotor you
can go 4 to 1 gear up, and 6 to 1 with the

Questions and myths about the Ametek 99.
I keep getting email notes asking; "will the
Ametek 99 blow an automotive backup lamp with a quick turn of
the hand?"
It will NOT blow an (1156 or 1157) automotive backup/brake light bulb
with a quick turn of the hand. You can not turn it fast enough
with your hand to get much more than a "dim glow" from the
bulb.
As a matter of fact, it will not blow even the little side marker
light bulbs with just a turn of the hand.
It is a good generator but not good enough for that, although it
sounds impressive that tale is nothing more than a lie.
Are there new ones? I highly doubt it!
All our Ametek 99 motors are used. I have NEVER seen a new one
and since they have not been manufactured for several years, I
highly doubt that anyone has new ones for sale. I
inspect each and every one I get in to make sure it is good and
ready to go before it gets sent to you.
Can I run it on three blades?
This is a yes and no question!
If they are large and geared up yes, large rotors run slower than
small ones so they must be geared up.
If they are small below 6 foot no. I do not know of a
small 3-blade rotor with the power it takes to get this generator up
to speed.
However our Quadraflex AL (4-blade) rotor
does a very good job on it.
